SDG Fest concluded in provincial level in Nepal |

With the motto of Decentralization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ?SDG fest? has been concluded in Pokhara today. The program was organized by Nepal Youth Council (NYC) in collaboration with UNDP Nepal. The program was concluded on five sessions, welcome Ceremony panel discussion, presentation on SDGs, group discussion with attendees and paper presentation by group leader.
At the very first session NYC president Mr. Saroj Baniya introduced about SDGs and the importance of youth power in achieving SDGs.
Special Guest Country Director Mr. Renaud Meyer gave light on the responsibility of achieving SDGs by civil society and youths. Also he mentioned that we must go beyond the social indicators to identify what?s happening.
On the second session there was panel discussion where different youth campaigners and entrepreneurs were there as panelist discussing various issues of SDGs and its localization.
On the third session youth program officer of UNDP Nepal Mr. Bisam Gyawali presented about the importance of SDGs and the achievements by Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). On the last session all the participants were divided into groups and each group concluded about the problems facing by youths today and the possible solutions that can be implemented from policy level. The conclusion was at last submitted to Pokhara Lekhnath Municipality office.
Nepal Youth Council Nepal (NYC) has been actively working for the development of youth?s personality, entrepreneurship and leadership as well as their self confidence by providing various training with various skills to make them independent since a long time. Participation in such SDG festivals is also a way of supporting SDGs and getting to know more of our responsibilities towards environment. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Ashtha! It's great to hear about the recent SDG fest in Nepal, organized by Nepal's Youth Council and UNDP Nepal! I'm always excited to see such active, outgoing youths that are passionate about the environment. Great job in organizing and participating in the festival! I hope that you had a great time working as a team to discuss sustainable development and spread awareness.
