Hello Guys

Namaste

Hope you all are fit, fine and healthy wherever you are in this earth.

Happy New Year 2019

World is celebrating its new year and enjoying new year, people are planning to do something new, creative and want more success in this year more than ever.

People are making New Year resolutions and Tunza also want our plans and ideas to act in this year, but thing are not same in my country.

In Nepal, we are in 9th month of our calendar; we have our own calendar and own New Year. Today world is in 4th January 2019 but in Nepal it is 20/9/2075

According to the Nepali calendar, it is not 2017, it¡¯s 2074!

Nepal uses a different calendar. Indeed, the Nepali calendar is based on the Bikram Sambat, a widely used ancient calendar of the Hindu tradition in Nepal. This calendar is approximately 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Common Era.

In addition, Nepal has a unique time zone: their standard time is 5 hours and 45 minutes ahead of GMT, making it one of the three places with a time zone interval offset of 45 minutes.

We have 12 months they are Baishak, Jestha, Aasar, Shrawan, Bhadra, Aswin, Kartik, Mangsir, Poush, Magh, Falgun and Chaitra

We celebrate our new year in 1st of Baishak, today is 20th Poush here which is 9th month according to our calendar. All educational institutes run new classes from Baishak which include April and May months from English calendar. You can see our calendar below in the picture and also English dates in same calendar.

We celebrate two New Year in a year, that¡¯s quite interesting, being unique and different from other I feel to share about it. If you guys have some quires regarding our calendar you can leave comments below.

Thank You

Happy New Year 2019
