Environmental Certification What does it mean to be Environmentally Certified? Environmental certification is a form of regulation performed by a third-party in which they assess the sustainability of the product for our planet. To be certified it means that the claims you make about these healthy assessments are valid, you comply with the criteria, and the environmental practices are meeting the standards of the industry. Benefits? Many benefits come from environmental certification. Some examples include saving time and money, identifying weaknesses in the environmental policy, and encouraging further change for a healthier environment. One example of a certification program is LEED. LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely known program regarding certification. Another example includes BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), which is an international program that specifically is recognized for its evaluation in building and infrastructure projects. The two programs listed above are just a few of many examples out there. However, they all have one universal goal: Save the planet from all dangers of human activity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_certification https://www.chas.co.uk/blog/what-is-environmental-certification-why-you-need-it/ https://www.sharplaunch.com/blog/green-building-certifications/ |

Hello Cheha, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
LEED is one of the great examples of green certification program. I also wrote an article related to green building certification programs including LEED. Architectural field is one of the fields where green certifications are already prevalent. Efforts to build eco-friendly buildings are being made all over the world. Buildings do not end up being built once, but include demolition and reconstruction as well as maintanence. All value chains should be dealt with in terms of the environment!
Thank you for the article!

Hello Cheha, this is your mentor Joon.
Environmentally Certified does not always mean that it is 100% sustainable to nature. Yet, there are some products or buildings which met the criteria a little bit more than averages. We give out certifications to those examples so that others can set them as a role model. There are some advantages, such as reduced tax, in some certification programs, but most of them lacks it. Therefore, in order to promote the sustainability, we should give more advantages to those attaining the certifications.
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
