I live in Syria, a country that has 325 sunny days over the year ! so probably solar energy is the best renewable source of energy for us. the average value of solar energy falling on a horizontal surface in Syria is about 5 kilo watt\ hour per square meter, and this number is very high comparing to other regions in the world, for example Germany has half of that figure. Also most of the cities in Syria are with a good level of radiation throughout the year.
Photo-voltaic cells -known as solar cells-are made of semiconductor materials , most of the time Silicon . together these cells form a solar panel
Solar cells convert solar radiation into electricity, so when the photons of the solar radiation hits the electrons in the semiconductor, the electrons are moved into a circuit to generate electric power.
The amount of energy that goes into creating solar panels is paid back through clean electricity production within anywhere from 1-2 years.
This energy might be a great solution for the future and for reducing sources consuming.

Actually jung
Statistics say that within two years your solar panels will pay back the ecological price of making them by generating clean energy :) )

Thank you for answering my question.
I believe there are more to be done for Syria to fully make use of the abundant solar energy. However, the price of the solar panels and the chemical pollution of production must be considered!

You are right, Mona. Govt may install Solar power stations, Industries can also operate on Solar Power.

it has some .. only few small stations here and there !

Does Syria have any operating solar power station now?
